Over 6.45Lakh people and 761 villages were affected due to unprecedented rainfall in the year’s monsoon. The worst affected were Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara. The water level in Kolhapur was reported to be of 57 feet which were way beyond the danger levels.

Sir Ness Wadia Foundation (SNWF) under the ambit of its Health and Nutrition programme has undertaken several activities in Palghar district, Maharashtra. Palghar is one of the worst affected districts in Maharashtra and around 396 children died in the year 2017-2018 due to malnutrition (Business Standard).
